REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Windshield

The windshield is positioned in the frame and glued on the cadre with urethane adhesive.

Depending on the circumstances, it can be used one of following installation methods:

- Simple method

- Complete method

The simple method is used when the windshield glass is removed intact and the truck opening and the flanges of the welding spot do not need repair.

The complete method is used when the truck opening or the flange is damaged. The complete method should also be used when there is no more adherence of the urethane to the windshield glass or to the flanges of the welding spot.

REMOVAL

(1) Cover the areas of the internal and external surfaces of the truck with a protecting cover.

(2) Remove the arms of the windshield wiper and the rearview mirror.

(3) Introduce a thin plate between the windshield glass and the internal border of the frame.

(4) Cut around the internal perimeter of the frame and separate the cover from the frame.

(5) With a cold knife, cut the urethane around the windshield perimeter.

(6) Remove the windshield glass from the opening.

INSTALLATION – SIMPLE METHOD

(1) Trim the urethane of the flanges of the welding spot. Leave a base of  0,1" (3 mm) at the flanges of the welding spot.

(2) Clean the internal part of the windshield with ammonia-based glass cleaner and a cloth.

(3) Apply a background layer on the external perimeter of the glass internal part at 5/8” (16 mm) from the glass edge. Use a background of urethane that can be dried. Dry the glass after applying the background.

(4) Apply the frame in the windshield.

(5) Place the glass in the flanges of the welding spot and check if there are flaws in the urethane.

REMOÇÃO E INSTALAÇÃO

Pára-brisa

O pára-brisa é posicionado na moldura e colado no quadro com adesivo de uretano.

Dependendo das circunstâncias pode ser usado um dos seguintes métodos de instalação:

- Método simples

- Método completo

O método simples é usado quando o vidro do pára-brisa é removido intacto e a abertura da carroceria e os flanges da solda a ponto não exigem reparo.

O método completo é usado quando a abertura da carroceria ou o flange está danificado. O método completo também deve ser usado quando não houver mais aderência do uretano ao vidro do pára-brisa ou às flanges da solda a ponto.

REMOÇÃO

(1) Cubra as áreas das superfícies interna e externa da carroceria com uma capa protetora.

(2) Remova os braços do limpador de pára-brisa e o espelho retrovisor.

(3) Introduza uma lâmina entre o vidro do pára-brisa e a borda interna da moldura.

(4) Corte em torno do perímetro interno da moldura e separe a capa da moldura.

(5) Com uma faca fria, corte o uretano em torno do perímetro do pára-brisa.

(6) Remova o vidro do pára-brisa da abertura.

INSTALAÇÃO – MÉTODO SIMPLES

(1) Apare o uretano dos flanges de solda a ponto. Deixe uma base de 3 mm (0,1”) nos flanges de solda a ponto.

(2) Limpe a parte interna do pára-brisa com limpador de vidros a base de amônia e com um pano.

(3) Aplique uma camada de fundo no perímetro externo da parte interna do vidro a 16 mm (5/8") da borda do vidro. Use um fundo de uretano do tipo que possa ser enxugado. Enxugue o vidro depois da aplicação do fundo.

(4) Aplique a moldura no pára-brisa.

(5) Coloque o vidro nos flanges de solda a ponto e verifique se há falhas no uretano.
